Forest Butterfly (Treesee Clowes Wood) 2021

Created from a photograph I took of a fallen tree sprawled amongst the undergrowth in Clowes Wood near Whitstable, Kent, UK.  I digitally cut and collage parts of the image to produce these trippy tree designs. There are so many variations from each tree which completely fascinates me. When I alter the colours I always use the natural colour as a base and tweak from there which is why there are certain hues that might only be found at particular times of the year.

The Treesee series highlights my obsession with trees. These phantasmagorical works surprise and delight as I watch them emerge on the screen from simple photographs taken on my phone. Like cloud busting, try tree busting. There's so much to see within the branches of these images I could stare at them for hours. A way to bring an enchanted forest into your home.
