Created from a photograph of a tree trunk against a wall in Solley's Orchard in Canterbury, Kent, UK. Solley's Orchard is where the monks used to grow the fruit used to make cider for the staff at Canterbury Cathedral, hundreds of years ago. I am struck by the markings on the trunk which resemble architecture and remind me of the ceiling in an Indian palace. I have only arranged the cut parts of the photograph into this mandala form, the markings are exactly as they are on the tree, cut, repeated and collaged.

I digitally cut and collage parts of the image to produce these trippy tree rings. There are so many variations from each tree which completely fascinates me. When I alter the colours I always use the natural colour as a base and tweak from there which is why there are certain hues that might only be found at particular times of the year.

The Treesee series highlights my obsession with trees. These phantasmagorical works surprise and delight as I watch them emerge on the screen from simple photographs taken on my phone. Like cloud busting, try tree busting. There's so much to see within the branches of these images I could stare at them for hours. A way to bring an enchanted forest into your home.

This collection is an open edition giclee print on museum quality 310gsm Hahnemuhle German Etching paper. The prints are unframed. If you would like to discuss framing options please contact me or feel free to organise your own.

Please note that there may be slight colour variations from the original due to the photographic process and viewing device.
